I 1965 holdt høytidelig armenere over hele verdenen for første gang minnet om folkemordet i 1915. I Armenias hovedstad krevde demonstrantene en tilbakelevering av området Nagornij Karabakh. Den første anmodningen om gjenforening av Nagornij Karabakh og Armenia ble overbrakt Sovjetunionens president Nikita Khrusjtjov i mai 1963, og var signert av 2.500 innbyggere fra det splittet området. Fra da av utviklet to motsattrettet strømninger: i Armenia, hvor man var tilhengere av gjenforeningen, og i Aserbajdsjan, hvor man var motstandere. I 1968 kom det til voldelige sammenstøt mellom armen og azerbajdsjaner i Stepanakert, hovedstaden i Nagornij Karabakh.

Krig og selvstendighet
Australia er et kontinent og samtidig et land på den sørlige halvkulen nordvest for New Zealand og sør for Indonesia, Øst-Timor og Papua Ny Guinea. Landet er det 6. største i verdenen. Navnet “Australia” kommer fra det latinske uttrykk Terra incognita australis (”ukjent sørlig land”).

In Lothar Böttcher’s sculptures glass becomes the focal point. Through glass the artist aims to manipulate and in a sense capture light. He attempts to make the viewer aware of the surroundings within the glass. Creating lenses, he offers a point of view (abstractly), changing perspective and observation of the contiguous space. Böttcher asks whether we really observe or understand our role in the world around us due to filters like beliefs and personal experiences. Everybody has a unique point of view.
